Yes, Lok-Lift can be used for temporary external installation. The preferred use is when combined with an impervious backing. This type of backing prevents moisture from seeping through to the Lok-Lift dry adhesive product.

One question you may have is whether stair nosings are still necessary when an elevator "lift" is in use in your building. By design, the stair nosing inserts provide visual contrast that help prevent slips and trips. Whether for an emergency exit stairwell or one inside the facility that is not deemed an emergency exit, providing anti-slip capability for people going and up and down the stairs is critical. Not only that, but the nosings provide durability and protect the edge of the step.

The Lok-Lift installation system that we manufacture is designed to be used within the Carpet and Rug Institute guidelines. These guidelines, specified under section CRI 102 of its carpet installation manual, state that a room should be 68 degrees, 24 hours before and after the installation, with a relative humidity of 75%.
