Our original Rug Gripper™ product is designed to hold rugs and mats in place over any floor surface. It is removable and releasable, and ideal for a temporary hold. You can pick up and move your rug or mat, along with the Rug Gripper™ product anytime you’d like, and it will not harm your rug or the floor underneath.
Opti-Grip®, on the other hand, is a double-sided tape that has a very aggressive adhesive. It is used in commercial applications to install carpet, vinyl, cove base, and other flooring accessories. It is not releasable or removable and is considered a permanent installation product.
